JavaOne Rant

I have one major complaint with JavaOne. The wireless network is HORRIBLE. Its hit or miss everywhere and from time to time, my browser is redirected to hotspot error pages. Its like there is some proxy application that we have to be redirected to in order to authenticate. I would suggest that the author of that application attend some sessions instead of playing network cop as this is becomming more and more annoying as each day passes.

Okay, I feel better now!

Re: JavaOne Rant

True, however, it is 200% better than last year. At least the sessions have wifi access...

Re: JavaOne Rant

yeah, I don't think it is that bad...I had trouble the first day getting on, but once I found the right ESSID I have been happily logging on without much issue. Of course, it probably changes by the minute...but I can hardly complain...it is better than walking up to desktop computers.

Re: JavaOne Rant

If you had done a traceroute, you would have seen that what you are seeing is a transient failures a few hops away. The wireless network works fine for me, and if it doesn't work for you, it might be your wireless card.

Re: JavaOne Rant

If it were my wifi card, I would not get the screen that I have posted in this entry. I wouldn't get anything.

Re: JavaOne Rant

It's Sun, they have the feature. Check. It doesn't have to good...
