Coral - When you need a little cache!

During my morning browsing stint, I ran across this really cool site/tool. It's called coral and was created by NYU. The idea behind it is to make internet sites faster and more available by caching. Even though this concept is old, it has now been brought into the main stream. Your site, my site, heck anyone's site can use it for free with ZERO setup. All you have to do is append .nyud.net:8090 to your domain name and away you go. This is the perfect solution if you are hosting a picture gallery off your DSL connection and granny wants to view the pics from across the world. Give her the Coral-ized URL and your bandwidth troubles will go away.

Here is a link to my blog using coral. It's wicked fast.

Irony at it's finest moment

So I’m driving home from work Monday evening in rush hour traffic. As I sit impatiently at a stop light, I noticed that the car in front of me had funny looking license plates. To be more specific, it had pink Missouri license plates that read MYGRL. A fairly young woman drove this red sporty import. In Missouri, organizations can create a customized version of Missouri plates that help support their cause or organization. For instance, colleges and non profit organization are the prototypical examples of this. This particular pink plate had the breast cancer awareness ribbon in it.

The ironic part of this story is that the young woman was sitting with her hand held out the window holding a cigarette. While I have no evidence that cigarette smoking and breast cancer actually have any correlation, I still laughed at the irony.
