Tomcat Hosting Anyone?

Need reliable host that doesn't break the bank.

Can anyone out there recommend a reliable java hosting company? My requirements are as follows.

  • Must support tomcat 5.5
  • Must allow me to restart tomcat without putting in a ticket
  • Must have IMAP email
  • Need enough diskspace that I don't have to delete email constantly
  • Must allow mysql access
My requirements are pretty simple I think. Did I miss anything?

www.kattare.com are excellent

Take a look at GridZones.com's offerings. I can not remember if they had IMAP or not though.

I had the best luck with RimuHosting:

I did the $30/month plan.

It's a full vps, so you can do whatever you want with tomcat, and they also specifically support java hosting.

It's likely you're hoping for something less expensive, but I tried a couple of others - this is the only one that I didn't actually have any problems with.

On the other hand, if you're just hosting your blog, and you have high speed internet at home, I might suggest setting up a server at home and hosting it from there "for free".

Re: Tomcat Hosting Anyone?

I host this site off my DSL line. I'm looking for host for something a bit more commercial. Thanks for your comments.
